oh! it's me!

i show up all kinds of places

you just never know where i'm going to turn up. i'm crawling all over now and getting into lots of stuff. and i love pulling up on everything in sight. the underside of the kitchen table is a pretty interesting place.

nine month update

dean and mommy accompanied me to doc stone's yesterday for my nine month check-up and 'well visit.' i was given a clean bill of health after doc stone peered into most of my orifices and listened to my chest.

he pronounced me 'perfect.' i could have told him that...



so, anyway, here are the #s.
weight: 21 lb 7 oz. 64% (this sounds huge, doesn't it? but it turns out that 36% of babies weight more than me. i was incredulous, too).
length: 28 1/4 in. 49%
head: 46 cm 69% (i'm trying to grow my head as big as dean's, and i'm making some headway - get it?)

surprise!

yesterday mommy came to get me out of the crib, and i was not laying down!



i've decided that all areas of my world should be thoroughly explored (including my crib).

i love pulling up and standing beside anything around, and today i practiced on my giant diaper box. so much fun!!

today i surprised mommy and da by climbing a step all by myself.





it must have made them a little bit nervous because a large barrier was put in place immediately! oh, well.

exploring the den during christmas clean-up.

no peas, please

things have been progressing nicely in the baby food department (i'm eating rice cereal, oatmeal, bananas, pears, sweet potatoes, squash, carrots and even little veggie puffs that santa brought me) until last night when it was time to start 'green vegetables'. we tried peas. they were awful! just look at my face!



and i don't know why mommy took all these pictures. the whole experience was pretty unpleasant.

i get around

i'm crawling pretty well now, and i pulled up on my new activity cube at christmas. now one of my favorite things to do is get on my knees and try to stand up next to anything around. here i am balancing next to my farm.



and the stairs are very intriguing. i like to get my knees up on them, too. i haven't gotten too far up them yet, but i sure keep trying.
